del Liceu (Undergraduate Studies)
The Conservatori del Liceu's objective
is to develop music professionals. Therefore we propose a
personalized education, with an academic plan includes the
common subjects for every field, as well as specific classes
for the different specializations. There are also a series
of elective subjects for the students to choose from. This
way, the students will be able to design their own curriculum,
according to their musical needs and interests. The CSML
imparts all the undergraduate music specializations for classical
and contemporary music, modern music and jazz, orquestral
conducting, composition and pedagogy.

Escuela Superior de Canto (Voice
Department)
The Conservatori Superior de Música
del Liceu has been distinguished for its vast pedagogical
tradition in the field of singing, from which an important
number of internationally renowned singers have appeared.
The academic plan has been designed to
adapt to the singer's particular needs. It covers specific
subjects of the specialisation, as well as other subjects
that allow the student to have a well rounded education,
facilitating his/her entrance to the professional world.
Escuela Superior de Guitarra Flamenca
(Flamenco Guitar Department)
The School of Flamenco Guitar has developed
an important task in the pedagogy of flamenco guitar since
1991. The Conservatori has remained pioneer of its academic
regularisation since 1991, with the creation of its own academic
plan, adapted to today's context integrating these studies
to an adequate academic context.. Flamenco guitar is today
a universal musical expression that has grown beyond its
geographical boundaries.
Grado Medio (Middle School)
The Conservatori del Liceu proposes global
teachings, from the children's 1 st contact with music, to
their whole musical formation: including interpretation,
as a soloist or in chamber or orchestral groups, but also
pedagogical aspects.
At this stage, the student can reach an excellent level to enjoy music at an
amateur level, but also achieve a solid base to continue his/her studies at
the Grado Superior (undergraduate level) and become a professional musician.
Grado Medio is organized in three cycles
of 2 courses each. Conservatori del Liceu offers every specialization
for classical and contemporary music instruments.

Modern Music and Jazz Studies
L'Aula de Música Moderna i Jazz
L'Aula de Música Moderna
I Jazz (L'Aula) was founded in 1978. L'Aula is a pioneer
school in Spain for Modern Music studies, specialized in
jazz, rock, pop, blues and other musical genres. In 1993
L'AULA joined the network of the Conservatori Superior
de Música del Liceu.
L'AULA's mission is to stimulate the performance
and knowledge of the “non-classical” music within the cultural
world, for amateurs and professionals. The L'AULA's educational
project incorporates a program and a pedagogical system based
in the experience of specialized schools and universities
in North America. L'AULA is also a founder and member of
the Berklee International Network.

Elementary and Middle Grade Studies
The Music Schools
Nowadays the Conservatori Superior
de Música del Liceu has several centers where the
initiation music levels are imparted: elementary and middle
studies. Designed as well rounded music centers, the schools
offer an academic plan that adapts to its surroundings.
For the youngest, studies based on practices
by Edgar Willems, Carl Orff and other great music educators
allow us to establish a good base through ear training and
rhythmic sense. Group work will help further their listening
capacity, creativity and communication. Children will have
a first contact with the instruments through the “instrument
circle”. Later on, they become familiar with written musical
language.
In the elementary level, the students follow
a complete program based on musical language, choral singing
and private instrument lessons. At the end of the elementary
level, the student will have learned to read and interpret
music with his/her instrument. They will have the required
level to pass the admission test to Grado Medio (Middle School),
if the wish.

Associate Schools Network
In 1993 the Associate Schools and
Professors Network was created in order to share the Liceu's
methodology and experience with the greatest number of
schools and professors.
Since the year 2000 the new associate model
has been promoted between the most consolidated schools and
the Conservatori del Liceu. The goal is to give the Associate
School an academic structure, a group of methodology tools,
a follow up program for the students and personalized attention
from the Conservatori. On the other hand, this allows the
students to participate, through their music school, of a
greater collective where he/she will find the option to continue,
if desired, up to undergraduate studies (Grado Superior).
Nowadays the Conservatori's network encompasses
over thirty associate schools.
Follow up Program
The rest of schools and professors that
have been associated to the Conservatori continue to participate
in the Follow up Program. Once a year over one thousand students
from other schools follow the examination term at the Conservatori
del Liceu.
