19 TH CENTURY
1837: Year of establishment of the Liceo
Filo-Dramático
de Montesión, presided by Manuel Gibert i Sans.
1838: On April 27 th the solemn act of inauguration of the Liceo took
place at the Saló de Cent of the Barcelona
Court House, and classes started at the Old Convent of Montesió.
1838: The Queen Maria Cristina authorized the society to take
her daughter's name and the Liceo became the Liceo
Filarmónico Dramático de S.M. la Reina Isabel
II.
1844: By Royal order of June 22 nd the Liceo received
the Old Trinitarians Convent (in exchange for the Montesió Convent),
in order to build a new school and more space for classes.
1845: The Liceo Filarmónico started working
on a theater appropriate for lessons and student's concerts.
1847: The Theater and the new classrooms were finished. In
April the classes started taking place at the new premises.
1847: On April 4 th the Institution inaugurated the Gran
Teatre del Liceu.
1854: The Liceo Filarmónico and the Gran
Teatre del Liceu separated administratively. Nevertheless,
both entities have always remained closely linked.
20 TH CENTURY
1913: Together with the Diputació de
Barcelona ,
The Conservatori del Liceu created the Escola
Catalana d'Art Dramàtic , which is today the Institut
del Teatro.
1931: With the arrival
of the Second Republic, and in accordance
with the new political frame, the entity's name became the
actual Conservatori del Liceu.
1932: The Conservatory
expanded and founded three sister schools at Sabadell, Olot
and Tarragona.
1936-1939: By decree, on July 27 of 1936, the Conservatori
del Liceu became an official institution, directly dependent
on the Generalitat de Catalunya , which adopted
the Conservatory's payroll.
1940: The administrations of L'Institut
del Teatre and
the Conservatori del Liceu started working together:
the students from the elementary level at the Conservatory
proceeded directly to the higher levels at L'Institut del
Teatre.
1944: By decree, on January 26th, the Conservatory
was raised to the category of Conservatori Superior de
Música
i Declamació de Barcelona , academically run by
the Conservatori del Liceu, L'Escola Municipal de Música and L'Institut
del Teatre .
1952: By decree, on March 14 th , the official
music and declamation programs separated.
1983: The decree
307/1983 decree of the Departament d'Enseyament
de la Generalitat divided the Conservatori Superior
de Barcelona, and created two completely independent
entities: the Conservatori Municipal and the Conservatori
del Liceu.
1990: The official academic law of education
LOGSE (Llei
d'Ordenació General del Sistema Educatiu) was
implemented.
1992: The number of linked schools was expanded
and the Liceu created
the Network of Associated Schools and Professors.
1997: The Conservatori
del Liceu started to implement
the Elementary and Middle levels of the LOGSE plan,
nevertheless the Pla d'estudis del 66 was still available.
21 st CENTURY
June 27 th 2002, the Conservatori del
Liceu was authorized
to implement the new academic plan, derived from the LOGSE.
October
1 st 2002, the Conservatori
del Liceu started
imparting the classes for Bachelor's degree in Music.
