1) Are the Undergraduate Studies (Grado Superior)
at the Conservatori del Liceu official/legal?
The Undergraduate Studies are based on the curriculum established
by the Decree 63/2001, from February the 20 th . The students
who finish the curriculum will obtain the Bachelor in Music
Degree (Titulo Superior de Música), equivalent to
a University Degree.
2) How do I access the Undergraduate Studies at
the Conservatori del Liceu?
Always through the admission tests established by the resolution
from April 6 th 2001. The admission tests take place every
year during June and September. They include interpretation
exercises, sight reading, listening and analysis, as well
as an interview with the admission board.
3) What previous studies do I need to have in
order to access the admission tests?
Prospect students must have a level of general knowledge
corresponding to High School (or the equivalent) and Middle
Grade in Music (Grado Medio). If the prospect student has
the titles that prove this level he/she can access the admission
tests directly. If the student does not have any official
titles but has the equivalent level, he/she will need to
do a specific test previous to the admission test.
4) Can I take the admission tests only at the
Conservatori del Liceu?
Each official center for Undergrauate Studies (Grado Superior)
in Spain offers the admission test for their prospect students.
Nevertheless, the student can access any center after having
passed successfully the test (if there are open places).
Therefore, if a student wishes to study at the Conservatori
del Liceu he/she can register bringing the certificate of
the admission test from any other center.
5) How do I know if I have sufficient level to
access Undergraduate Studies in Music (Grado Superior)?
Official Middle Grade (Grado Medio) studies in Music are
designed to give the students the required level to take
the admission tests for the Undergraduate Studies (Grado
Superior). In any case, the students can address the academic
directors of The Conservatori del Liceu in order to answer
any possible question. Besides, the Conservatori offers preparatory
courses for the admission tests.
6) How long are the Music Undergraduate Studies
(Grado Superior)?
Four years with the possibility to extend it to six. In
some extraordinary cases an extra year can be added.
7) Can I have my previous studies convalidated
at the Conservatori del Liceu?
If you have other Undergraduate Studies or any equivalent
experience you can apply for convalidation. The result will
be decided by a commission created by the center.

del Liceu?
The Conservatori del Liceu has a wide offer
of Postgraduate Studies and Performance Courses in every
specialization and instrument, as well as orchestra conducting
and composition. Besides, every year we offer Master Classes
by associate and guest professors on every field.
